Major refurbishment blends traditional and quirky design
A theatre pub since 1780 and steeped in history, the White Bear needed a major refurb and expansion to cater for its ever-growing customer base, while remaining unchanged as a much-loved independent venue for show-stopping productions. The iconic theatre at the rear of the pub was meticulously re-sited upstairs in order to extend the ground floor area into the garden. A cool and contemporary indoor-outdoor bar and dining space was created and the rest of the interior stylishly modelled with a marriage of ‘traditional pub meets modern, quirky design’.
