Historic building refurbishment combines traditional and contemporary styling
The historic Three Swans Hotel, overlooking Hungerford’s famous market place, dates back to the 1600s. Following a change of ownership, a total refurb was agreed and Stenball was selected to undertake the work. The project needed to cleverly marry the ancient sections of the building with the modern construction and styling required to appeal to today’s aesthetic, while working within strict building preservation confines.
Working closely with conservation officers both external and internal areas were completely re-configured. Internally, Stenball transformed its 25 previously tired and worn bedrooms, its restaurant, bar, coffee lounge and snug. Externally, new paved, decking and grassed areas were laid, a new bar and restaurant area created and features such as a pergola and fire pit were added.
