Demanding refurbishment safely completed
This refurb of a floating pub and restaurant was an especially demanding project. The converted 1930s ferry moored at Victoria Embankment is connected to the shore by walkways and moves up and down with the tide. Deliveries and waste removal had to be undertaken by boat. Painting was particularly hazardous, both up on the ship’s vast chimney and with cradles suspended over the sides.
Health and safety was paramount, with one member of staff on ‘river watch’ at all times in case anyone fell in.
