Brownfield site development
This private commission for an investment client is a brownfield site development over 19,000 square feet and two floors. It will be split into units for small but established creative businesses in an area famed for its many games developers, plus digital innovators and tech incubation companies.
There were huge challenges with asbestos removal. Engineering and services also posed a major issue: being next to a floodplain meant the site had to be excavated and an underground reservoir and special soakaway created to ensure ample, ongoing drainage. The footprint around the structure had to be protected and backfilled.
